Abstract

Objective of the study is to identify and substantiate theoretically the features of the application of digital technologies in the physical culture sessions of elderly persons.

Methods and structure of the study. An analysis was carried out of Russian and foreign experience of applying information and intelligent technologies in physical culture and health-improving work with elderly people (more than 150 open web sources); a pilot monitoring of the readiness of elderly participants to use digital instruments was conducted on the basis of the physical culture and health-improving groups of the city of Kazan (376 persons).

Results and conclusions. Generalised groups of digital means were identified according to the character of the health-improving task addressed in the physical activity of elderly persons: means of monitoring functional state and biofeedback, means of organising and accompanying motor activity, means of personalising the load, means of monitoring technique and preventing risks, and communicative assistants.

On the basis of the analysis carried out, the organisational aspects of the effective application of digital technologies in the physical culture and health-improving activity of elderly persons were outlined: the conduct of educational courses in digital literacy, digital consulting, and the provision of the safety, ergonomics, ethics and accessibility of digital technologies.
