Abstract

Objective of the study is to examine the problem of improving the physical preparation of football players of student teams in the People's Republic of China (PRC).

Results and conclusions. It is shown that contemporary football places high demands on the development of endurance, speed, speed-strength abilities, coordination and special playing working capacity. It is noted that in the conditions of student football the training process is complicated by the academic workload, the heterogeneous level of the players’ preparedness and the limited volume of training time. The need for the comprehensive construction of physical preparation with account taken of competitive activity and of the specific nature of student teams is substantiated.
